Getting out on the water in a boat in Minnesota is a huge part of outdoor life for residents and tourists and Lake Superior makes it feel you’re cruising in the ocean.

Inland lakes alone account for nearly 30 public boat landings for trailered boats. These lakes have a lot to offer, from spending time participating in water sports to sightseeing to fishing, there are many different places to use your boat in Lake County while exploring away from the North Shore.

As for Lake Superior access, Lake County offers 4 main areas to launch your boat and get out on the largest of the Great Lakes. There are areas to launch all the way up the highway, starting in Knife River at their marina, and going all the way up to Silver Bay at their marina, you have many options to explore the North Shore from the water. Two Harbors boasts a great facility in Agate Bay for you to put your boat in the water and easily park your vehicle.
