It would not be called Lake County if there wasn’t anywhere to fish. You will think that fishing in Lake County is fin-tastic and you will be hooked into coming back. If you can think of any better fish puns let minnow, but we are trying to scale back. There are too many places to fish in Lake County to list them all, so here are some of the top spots and highlights of where to drop anchor.

 

 

Lake Superior

You couldn’t start a list of best places to fish without mentioning Lake Superior. Lake Superior is the largest body of freshwater in the WORLD with over 30,000 miles of surface area and a maximum depth of 1,335 ft. There are many different water access areas along Highway 61. Some of the fish you will find in Lake Superior are Walleye, Salmon, and Lake Trout.

Christianson Lake

Christianson Lake is about 15 miles north of Two Harbors. The lake is around 150 acres large and has mostly Crappie and Bluegill. Other fish in the lake are Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass. There is public boat access on the northeastern shore off County Highway 2 and 202.

Nine Mile Lake

Nine Mile Lake is about 12 miles west of Schroeder. This lake provides a great opportunity to catch Walleye and Bluegill on the 296 acres of water. There is access located on the eastern shore off County Road 7.

Stewart Lake

14 miles north of Two Harbors lies Stewart Lake. With about 250 acres of water, this lake specializes in Northern Pike as well as Bluegill, there have also been Walleye and Crappie caught there. Access to the lake is located on the southern end of the lake off County Road 131 and Stewart Lake Road.

Greenwood Lake

Greenwood Lake has a size of 1,300 acres and is just over 30 miles north of Two Harbors. With public access located on the southwest shore of the lake on County Road 2, this lake specializes in Walleye, Bluegill, and Northern Pike. You may also find Crappies, Large & Smallmouth Bass in this lake.
