But we still need to track the recovery of the peregrines.\n\nScientists and volunteers are helping keep track of the peregrines that nest on the cliffsides along Lake Superior. One of their important tasks is banding\, where each chick gets fitted with “I.D. bracelets” that can be read from far away with binoculars.\n\nThe scientists and volunteers who help with this are organized into teams by Jackie Fallon of the Midwest Peregrine Society. Among them is Jill Beim\, who is behind the camera at each of these sites\, capturing it all in amazing photos such as these. Come learn about her unique photographer’s perspective and take home a free copy of Ranger Rick magazine!\n\nJill Beim is a conservation photographer based in Silver Bay\, Minnesota\, who has been capturing images of wildlife and landscapes for 10 years. Her work with peregrines has been featured in Ranger Rick magazine.
