With the decision to cancel this year’s Annual Gala and $10,000 Raffle (which provide most of the Chamber’s funding) we got creative. Let’s ask some of our awesome business partners to shave their heads!  Your donation will bring baldness to one of these business members. Who will hit their goal and get the clippers first?

Ken Anderson Two Harbors Police Department Current Total: $870 More about Ken
Ken Anderson Two Harbors Police Department Current Total: $870

I’ve been with the Two Harbors Police Department since July of 2012.  Prior to moving “home”, my family and I lived in Alexandria, MN where I worked for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for fifteen years. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends at the cabin, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and enjoying the outdoors.

I think this is a fun way to give back to the community where I grew up and an entertaining way to help local businesses that have helped law enforcement over the years raising funds for athletes to participate in the Special Olympics.

I’ve been married to my wife for over 22 years and she is hoping to change up my look!

Warren Miller Harbor Insurance, Chairman of the Board Current Total: $1000

I’ve been selling insurance since 1985 and I’m part owner of Harbor Insurance Agency. Over the past 35 years, I volunteered for many area organizations, outlasting many of them. Currently, I am the Chairman of the Board for the Lake County Chamber, known as the Grandpa of the Chamber having been on the board since 1986.

I have two children, Kiera Wilson and Jesse Miller, and four grandkids who will look at me real funny when they see my hair all gone! I enjoy golfing, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and taking a cruise in my Viper convertible — which I will miss the wind blowing through my hair after it is all cut off!

Mike Kaczrowski Stanley LaBounty Current Total: $1275 More about Mike
Mike Kaczrowski Stanley LaBounty Current Total: $1275

I’m currently based here in Two Harbors and manage all aspects of the LaBounty manufacturing site. I previously managed locations in Portland, Jiashan, China, and Dusseldorf, Germany before closing both the international locations in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

I’ve been married to my wife Karen for almost 20 years and we have 3 kids:  Paige (Senior), Erica (Sophomore), and Alex (7th Grade). I love spending time outdoors as a wanna-be rancher/farmer and you can often find me wasting time wrecking trees with my skid steer.

I golf (not very well) but I like to play and it’s a good reason to get out of work at least once a week for men’s league or Chamber events.

During high school, I did what every kid dreamed of doing in the ‘80s: I was in a band! Yes, I had long hair (super mullet) and all. We thought we were cool and hard rock. However, one of my current employees pretty much nailed it when he saw our album cover and heard one of our original songs. He said we were probably more like a bad mix of Def Leppard and A Flock of Seagulls.  But it was the ‘80s and it was fun.

I turn 50 this year and still have a full head of hair…at least until we earn enough to shave it all off!

Nick Osbakken Holden Electric Agate Division Current Total: $1000

I’m Nick Osbakken. I am an Electrician/ Project Assistant for Holden Electric Agate Division. I have been around this trade my entire life and I love what I do. I worked at Holden for as many hours as I could while I went to school at THHS and while attending LSC for Commercial and Residential Wiring. I then got accepted into the local 242 Electricians Union where I worked at Hunt and Parsons, both for roughly a year. I’m now at Holden Electric and haven’t looked back since. A goal of mine is to get my name and Holden Electric’s name out there more, so no matter how big or small the electrical work is, we get a shot at doing it. For hobbies, I enjoy doing things with my friends. Spending time with my family is #1, whether we curl, golf, go on the lake, play beach volleyball or men’s hockey league, hunting, four-wheeling, or my newest hobby: cruising with the North Shore Classic Car Club.

Jessica has been a resident of Two Harbors for 22 years. She married her high school sweetheart Eric in 2005. When I’m not at work you can find my family and me at the camper. I enjoy camping, fishing, painting, and supporting the cheerleading program with THHS as my daughter is a cheerleader for football, hockey & basketball.

What many do not know about me is I am a childhood cancer survivor. I was blessed with a wig on the off chance I lost my hair during chemo at the age of 5 by a generous unknown person.  I will be donating my long locks to wigs for kids to be able to give back and help the chamber at the same time.

Nik Edlund State Farm Current Total: $1000 More about Nik
Nik Edlund State Farm Current Total: $1000

I grew up in Two Harbors and graduated in 1999 from Two Harbors, where I played average-skilled baseball and football for the Agates. After a brief 15 months in Cincinnati, where I worked at Chuck E. Cheese donning the mouse suit every now and then, I returned home and began a fifteen-year career as a funeral director at Cavallin Funeral Home. I also worked for five years at PureDriven as the Facebook Ads Manager and I’ve now joined Amy Jordahl State Farm to help keep the residents of Two Harbors fully protected.

I’m a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan who co-hosts The Onebar and Lupagus Show that can be found on YouTube and is a contributor to The Viking Age and ZoneCoverage.

I bleed Agate maroon and help the community by volunteering as a Pony Football Coach and organizing the Cornhole Against Hunger Food Shelf Drive. I live on the outskirts of Silver Creek with my wife Sarah, and kids Kaden, Hattie, and Landon.

I love my community and will shave every inch of hair off my body if it means helping out the Chamber; however, to achieve that task could take more razors than Super One can stock.

Dan Cruikshank Spokengear Cyclery, Cedar Coffee Company and Cedaero Current Total: $1000

I have been Goin’ Gray for business since 1986 when Jeff Knight and I founded Granite Gear.  In my younger days,  I was known to have amazingly curly locks and many questioned whether my full head of hair had anything to do with my amazing strength and endurance on a bicycle. We moved Granite Gear to Two Harbors in 1988 and we’ve never looked back.  I got married to my college sweetheart, Kirsten, right in Lakeview park.  Together we made Two Harbors our home and raised three kids with amazing hair!

After Granite Gear was sold a few years back, my wife and I built three new thriving businesses in town under one roof: Spokengear Cyclery, Cedar Coffee Company and Cedaero.  What little non-gray hair I have left is kept in place by the amazing folks who work there and his amazing family and community of Two Harbors!  I am willing to give it all up for the Chamber, but I wish this was in the spring, not going into hoodie season.

I enjoy long walks on the Lakeview Golf Course and an occasional stroll on the shores of the Gitchi Gummi. When I am not walking aimlessly outdoors I like to spend time working on our house, socializing with friends/family, and eating food at many establishments on the shore. I will be tying the knot on October 3rd to the love of my life – the little bit of hair I have left will have to stay on until then!

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family; husband Billy and two girls Brielle (age 4) and Willa (age 2). We enjoy family time camping, boating, golfing and snowmobiling. Brielle is a little nervous for her mommy to “chop” her hair! Let’s be honest, I’m nervous too! I will be donating my hair to Wigs for Kids. I was born and raised in Two Harbors and graduated in 1962. I joined the US Army for three years and was discharged in 1965.  I worked construction on the Iron Range for about a year, then at Reserve Mining for a few months, and then started with the local telephone company where I retired from in 1996.  After my retirement, I was approached to work as director of the Chamber for a short period of time, which turned out to be another 19 years. I retired again in 2014.

Today I am active with the American Legion Post 109, I do some of the Administrative work for the Voyageur Snowmobile Club, and publish a couple of maps and the Community Directory for the Chamber. I like to stay busy!

I love spending time with family which includes 15 grandkids; I try to keep playing golf and enjoy a little fishing.

At 61 years of age I can proudly say I have lived my entire life in Lake County. Raised my family of two daughters and two sons in Silver Bay. I just retired from the Silver Bay fire department after serving 35 rewarding years. I am currently serving my 28th year as your County Commissioner. I started my public service with a year as a Silver Bay Councilman before moving on to Commissioner. I also have worked an entire career at Northshore Mining.

I enjoy anything outdoors such as fishing, wheeling, snowmobiling, or camping with friends and family. I’ve been skydiving a few times and do plan on a few more jumps.

2020 has been a challenge for each and every one of us, especially our business owners. I want to show my support for them by doing something that may be a bit uncomfortable but will help the Chamber raise some much needed funds.

Carpe Diem, good-bye hair!
