Hawk Ridge Hot Club Live @ Larsmont Trading Post

Started in the Fall of 2025, The Hawk Ridge Hot Club brings together 4 musicians who truly enjoy playing music of all genres and whose skills help carry on the tradition of hot club jazz honoring the songs and the musicians that made hot club jazz a unique art form style.

The Hawk Ridge Hawk Club plays with minimal electronics and amplification and uses acoustic instruments to bring an authentic sound to the music and provide a cafe style feel to the patrons.

Lian Ojakangas | Violin
Lian Ojakangas is a Minnesota-based violinist performing in a range of settings across the region. His work spans classical repertoire as well as jazz and Django-inspired styles.
He has studied with Yoonshin Song, David Halen, and Hal Grossman, and appears regularly in both concert and live performance environments.
Patrick Sullivan | Guitar

A multi-genre guitarist, Patrick is the formative member of the Hawk Ridge Hot Club. Patrick’s love of Django made him a member of a number of Twin Cities based groups. A graduate of The University of St. Thomas, Patrick performed and taught music in the metro area. Since moving back to Two Harbors, Patrick combines a job doing wood finishing for high end home projects and performing in a number of groups.

Andy Lipke | Guitar

Andy Lipke has been a denizen of the Twin Ports music scene since 2004. He studied Jazz music at UMD and currently performs with Boxcar, Theory of Light, and the Hawk Ridge Hot Club. He has been known to keep several species of snakes.

Timothy Churchill – Double Bass

From classical orchestra to folk to jazz, Timothy has performed in many ensembles in the Duluth / Superior region. Currently holding down the bass chair in The DCJB Big Band, Tim has performed with the DSSO, LSCO, vocal ensembles, and folk groups; and for 25 years played in ‘The Strollers’ trio.
