The Historic Two Harbors City Band

The Two Harbors City Band has been playing every summer since 1897. That’s 122 years of providing the community with fantastic music. The dedicated musicians have been playing in the Paul Gauche Memorial Bandshell since it’s construction in 1937. Now over 80 years later the Two Harbors City Band may be playing their last concert in the Bandshell.

In recent years, there has been a movement of local music lovers that have formed a non-profit in order to design and construct a new performing arts center in Thomas Owens Park. The new venue will not simply be a stage but will include a storage area for music and equipment and a rehearsal area. For the general public, the performing arts center will have public restrooms, handicap accessibility, and multi-use areas to be used by the entire community. While the park may change in the future, what won’t change is the constant passion for music in Two Harbors.

Don’t miss what will likely be the last concert in the Paul Gauche Memorial Bandshell Thursday, August, 15th at 7:30 pm. It is sure to be an exciting night in the park.
